The airport is reasonably busy relative to its size and sees around one and a quarter million passengers per year, with approximately 15,000 movements of aircraft. The airport is reached easily via the A2 motorway, which can be accessed from the north or south of Eindhoven. Buses leave every 15 minutes for the city centre, while taxis are on hand outside of the arrivals area for passengers requiring door-to-door service. Destinations further afield can be reached by train from Eindhoven Central Station, including Amsterdam and Rotterdam (north-west), Antwerp (south-west), and Dusseldorf (east).

Eindhoven Airport was founded in 1932 and has recently celebrated its 75-year anniversary this year. In 1996, the airport's growth was far greater than expectations, necessitating the need for expansion. After much planning, a new terminal was built in 2005 and in this terminal Eindhoven Airport is now able to facilitate around 2.5 million passengers each year.
Facilities at Eindhoven Airport (EIN) include an information desk with multilingual staff, cashpoint and financial amenities. A number of restaurant and cafés are on hand providing a range of food and beverages, while the Shop and Fly outlet offers a convenient place for some last minute shopping, featuring plenty of Dutch souvenirs, wines, perfumes and more.
Various car hire companies are on hand at Eindhoven Airport and include Avis, Europcar and Hertz. Car parking facilities total approximately 1,500 spaces, with both short-term and long-term parking options, as well as allocated spaces for the disabled close to the entrance.

Perhaps most famous for its successful football team, PSV, Eindhoven is a city not essentially considered a tourist destination.
